Subscriptions are a steady and reliable source of revenue for any game store owner. While a store needs to convince a buyer to purchase each one-time purchase, subscriptions provide better forecasting and improved player retention.
While this might not be groundbreaking news to many reading this, this October we’re giving your players a reason to be excited about subscriptions with Sub-tober Fest.
Sub-tober Fest: Where Subscriptions X October Fest
From October 1 to October 31 2026, any player who starts a new subscription of $20 or more in any Tebex store will receive a $4 global Tebex gift card as our thanks, emailed directly to them – no need for the store or player to take any action to claim the reward.
We’re giving 65,000 cards with one card per player, while cards last!
To avoid any confusion: The gift card is purely funded by Tebex as a token of appreciation. There is no deduction from your payout, no additional charge or fee, and the only condition for your store to participate is having a subscription package available during October. (And hopefully beyond!)
The gift cards are redeemable at any Tebex store, including yours, until December 31, 2026. Including during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
What Sub-tober Fest means for your store
Essentially, you earn twice.
First, the recurring revenue from every new subscriber. Second, if a player spends their gift card in your store, you receive your normal payout.
We recommend preparing for Sub-tober Fest with offers and marketing communication that incentivizes your players to both purchase a subscription and return to your store for an additional purchase once they receive the gift card from Tebex.
How to get ready for Sub-tober Fest
- Make sure you have a subscription package live in your store. If you already offer a subscription package, you might want to check if at least one tier is $20 or more so it qualifies a buyer for the reward. (This will of course depend on your store and community)
- The following are some common subscription packages across the Tebex ecosystem - feel free to use them as inspiration for your store: monthly ranks, recurring crate keys, a perks tier.
- Communicate with your community before October 1. The campaign only counts subscriptions started in October, so the goal is to have players ready to buy on day one.
